The artist formerly known as Prince, or now again known as Prince, is the one credited with discovering the singing talent of Tara Leigh Patrick. Before releasing her debut album under Prince's record label in 1992, Tara changed her name to Carmen Electra.
Her music career was a flop. She had one slightly popular song called Go-Go Dancer, but that was about it. She turned her career's direction towards TV and landed a decent role on the show Good Burger. It wasn't until later that year that Carmen's name became more well-known; she took over Jenny McCarthy's role as host of MTV's Remote Control and her popularity began to soar. Her later accomplishments in acting include a two year role on the hugely popular TV show Baywatch. After that, she turned to film but only ended up with a few roles here and there. Another reason we all know Carmen Electra's name so well is because of her highly publicized marriage to basketball star Dennis Rodman. Rodman and Electra had a rocky relationship for years. The two were briefly married but reports claim it was carried out when by Carmen when Dennis was drunk.
A short while after, reports claim that when Carmen spotted Dennis in bed with two women in a hotel room. Apparently, she stormed out and told Dennis she was heading to Ohio to meet with family but truthfully she was going to get even with Rodman by having her own fling with former Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee. Tommy was recently released from jail for beating his wife, Pamela Anderson, and reports say Carmen shacked up with him in his mansion and even went on tour with him.
Dennis Rodman was so furious with Tommy Lee that he threatened to kill him. Tommy was so scared he hired a full time body guard to protect him around the clock. In a show in Vegas, Rodman motioned for the Motley Crue drummer to join him in the audience and later tried to get backstage, but was resisted by security.
Pamela Anderson also had a very jealous reaction to the fling between Tommy Lee and Carmen Electra. She apparently called Carmen and exclaimed "You leave my man alone!" and slammed down the phone. Electra was told to have been furious when Tommy called and told her the relationship was over, since she reportedly had expected to be the next Mrs. Lee.
Electra's other relationships were with Cypress Hill's B-Real and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. She also has spent some time with recovering drug addict Jeremy Jackson, and movie star Leonardo Di Caprio. Perhaps Carmen's flings and attitude are what caused her former Baywatch co-star Donna D'Errico to call her a "celebrity leech."
